New parameter in the site catalog – average monthly traffic

An important parameter for some advertisers is the data on site traffic. A new parameter “traffic” has been added to the site catalog, which expresses the average monthly traffic of the site.

At this moment, publishers are starting to add their traffic and it will be projected into the catalog on an ongoing basis. Every change in the catalog is checked.

Currently, the average monthly traffic is entered by the publishers themselves without verification, so it is tentative. In case of doubt, the traffic will be individually verified. In the future, the function for automatic retrieval of average traffic will be added and verification data will be included in the catalog.

Standard Page

The standard length of a standard page used in PR Yard is 1500 characters without spaces.

The length of the Czech standard page is 1800 characters, including spaces. This length is based on the functionality of typewriters (60 characters on 30 lines). Each country has its own standard length from 1125 characters without spaces to 1800 characters with spaces. In addition, in the English-speaking world, the number of words is used instead of the number of characters (US 250 words).

The PR Yard provides services for publishing advertorials, writing texts and their translations. The European Union is a unifying element of many European countries, using its own standards for communication between individual states. The European standard for a standard page is 1500 characters without spaces. PR Yard is international, so it uses this European standard.

Setting the price of services

An update has been deployed today that changes the internal workings of pricing between seller and advertiser.

Now the seller (editor, influencer) enters the basic price for the publication in the settings of his site (social account) and adds the price for the services that the advertiser can buy.

The first service that the seller can set is the price for writing an advertorial (creating a post). If he does not fill in the price, writing the advertorial by the author of the site will not be offered. In this case, the advertorial will be delivered to the seller already written. If the seller publishes only advertorials written by him, he will tick “I only publish my texts”.

In addition, the seller can add another (up to) 3 services that advertisers will be able to purchase. The services include, for example: “extra long article, guarantee of annual display on the main page, promotion on the Facebook account associated with the page”.

The advertiser now sets the price for the trade as needed. If your price seems high, he can send you an offer according to his price preferences. The setting of the price by the seller for individual inquiries has been canceled. This systemic change will allow for greater purchase variability for the advertiser and a faster process for offering your site to the seller.

New Catalog 3.0

An update of the catalog of websites and social accounts has been deployed, which makes the catalog an e-shop with the option of purchasing advertorials with variants. It couldn’t be easier (it can, but not until next time). The goal is to simplify the purchase of articles as much as possible and make it as simple as in an eshop. The new catalog brings changes in functioning and nomenclature.

When writing an order (formerly called a campaign), the buyer (advertiser) no longer has to choose whether he wants “publication only” or “writing and publication”. Newly, he chooses these services only for an individual purchase in the catalog with the option to
purchase additional services of the site (for example, an extra long article, or the promotion of an article on Facebook). More information below.

Filtering in the catalog has moved from the top above the catalog to the left instead of the menu, as is customary in e-shops. Filtering is always in sight and you can adjust the results as needed. There is still a limit that a maximum of 500 records can be displayed per view.

Gray question marks have been added to the catalog, which will display help text related to the page (label, detailed price list, statistics) when the mouse is moved.

The catalog shows the basic price for the publication, and when you hover the mouse over the question mark at the price, a help with the entire price list will pop up. When you click on “Buy”, a new window will pop up with the whole price list in which you select (check) the services you require.

Writing an advertorial has new specifics. The advertorial can be written by the site operator (written by the author) or by the copywriters of the PR Yard service (written by PR Yard). If you do not choose one of these options, the system will ask you to deliver the advertorial for publication in the trade detail. Writing from the author of the page can
sometimes be mandatory if the owner of the page does not publish texts written by someone else. If you choose the advertorial to be written by PR Yard, you will receive an original written article with a length of 2 standard pages (3000 characters without spaces, approximately 500 words).

Below the price list, the price for the selected services is added up, you can adjust this final price and thus make a counter-offer to the seller. Warning: significantly lower counter-offers are often rejected.

Thanks to the changes listed above, the whole process of buying advertorials is now easier and faster. Currently, you can choose from 1,400 pages and social accounts, mostly in Czech and Slovak. The Polish websites will start to increase in January and the German websites in February.

Expiration of trades or that the order does not fall asleep

Trade expiration is used to control the progress of trades so that no trade falls asleep and each trade is completed. Each advertorial purchase has its own sequence of events. These events have a time limit until when they are to take place and we call them the “expiration” of a trade or advertorial. The course of trading may differ due to the variability
of the marketplace, but the basic framework of trading events is as follows.

  1. Trade offer
  2. Acceptance of the bid by the counterparty
  3. Delivery of a draft advertorial + chat about the form of the advertorial
  4. Approval of draft advertorial
  5. Publishing an advertorial
  6. Advertorial check and payment

Expiration is set to 3 days from the beginning of each event. Only for the delivery of the draft advertorial and publication it is 5 days. At each subsequent step, the expiration shifts by the specified time. Due to the expiration, both parties of the trade have a time frame within which they should react or the counterparty should react.

If the original expiration (delivery of the advertorial proposal – 5 days) is longer than the chat expiration (3 days), a longer expiration date is always set.

Expiration has expired – what will happen?

When a trade expires, the expired trade is highlighted in red to the administrators first and “someone” starts solving it. In the first round, the administrator calls the trade participant at whom the trade fell asleep and reminds him of the trade. In case of a problem, he tries to communicate the remedy. If he is not able to reach the trade participant via phone call, an information email is sent.

In the case of non-response to the offer or non-delivery of the draft advertorial, the trade will be canceled within 24 hours of expiration. The advertiser’s credit will be unblocked.

If the advertiser does not check the draft of the advertorial or does not respond to the publisher’s questions, the administrator takes over his work and tries to respond responsibly for the advertiser according to the instructions in the assignment.

Our goal is not to let any business fall asleep, to communicate with the advertiser or publisher in case of problems, and to help complete the business to the satisfaction of both participants.

Ahrefs values in the site catalog

Ahrefs is an SEO tool often used by SEO specialists (search engine optimization) and link builders (backlinks). To save work for our buyers, we have integrated the basic Ahrefs values directly into the site catalog.

A new column with the value Ahrefs DR (domain rank) is now displayed in the catalog. When you hover the mouse over this value, the value “Number of referring domains” and “Total number of backlinks” will also appear in the pop-up bubble.

In the catalog of sites and social accounts, you can now sort the records according to the following columns:

● Moz DA
● Alexa
● Number of posts
● Number Likes

Publication date setting

This article follows up on the earlier article “Expiration of trades or that the order does not fall asleep”. When an advertiser submits text for publication or approves a draft advertorial for publication to the publisher, the publisher should publish the advertorial within 5 days.

Sometimes an advertiser agrees with a publisher on a publication on a special day (Valentine’s Day) or the editorial office has a large “overpressure” of advertorials in a short period of time and has to spread the publication over several days. In this case, a period of 5 days may not be sufficient. For such cases, there is a new publication date setting in the form for sending the URL of the published paper.

Entering a planned publication date will postpone the expiration of the business and has its own rules. The date of publication must not be more than 14 days from the original expiration. The expiration is set on the day of publication at midnight. The newly set publication date will always make an entry in the trade history and a new message notification will be sent to the advertiser.

Faster response to new requests

Publishers see by their websites the corresponding demand to which they can offer. Requests are matched with websites according to the type of “location” (web, Instagram, Facebook,…) and according to the language (Czech, Slovak, …).

The publisher can offer his website for request, and thus his website will be highlighted to the advertiser in the catalog if it is set to “display in the catalog”. If the site has been disabled from “display in the catalog”, the publisher’s bid will be displayed to the advertiser and highlighted. The advertiser can also filter the “bids only” option in the catalog When a publisher rejects a request, the website listing is hidden to the advertiser in the catalog if the page is set to “show in catalog”.

When the publisher responded to advertisers’ offers, the entire page reloaded. This full page loading was inconvenient and took a long time. This functionality has recently been redesigned using the AJAX technique. Responding to requests is now instant and animated for publishers. With new functionality, publishers can now respond more easily to inquiries and save time spent waiting for a page to reload.

We have recently transferred the “favorites” function to this list in the form of a star, which you know from the catalog. Each store has a star at the beginning of the line in the list, which you can highlight by clicking. This way you can mark the trades/advertorials you want. Of course, it is
possible not only to mark a star, but also to unmark it by clicking again.
